All Lappset playgrounds and sports equipment in Natural tone come always with wood preservation but the wooden parts are unpainted.
How the natural wood behaves?
Wood has a natural and warm appearance, making playgrounds and outdoor sports areas feel inviting. The natural surface of the Nordic pine whispers stories of timeless beauty, with its rich grains creating a captivating visual harmony. The unique pattern and texture of each knot and whorl add depth and character, weaving a distinct mosaic that showcases nature's own artistry and unparalleled design. After some time outdoors, the Natural Tone surface will develop a beautiful grey patina.
Green values and safety aspects
Wood preservation is a safe choice for both users and the environment
Because Nordic pine (Pinus sylvestris) grows slowly, its wood is exceptionally hard and durable, particularly the heartwood. This is why itʼs better suited for outdoor equipment than wood from warmer climates. It's worth noting that the absence of paint also contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the products in Natural tone, aligning with one of our core objectives: to minimise the environmental impact of Lappset equipment.
Although the Natural tone option remains non-painted, it is still carefully treated with our closed preservation process to guarantee a long lifecycle for the product for generations to enjoy. Lappset uses only environmentally friendly preservatives at Lappset's Rovaniemi factory. The preservative conforms to the EU REACH Regulation and is approved by the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency TUKES. This is why Lappset equipment in the Natural tone is just as safe to use and adheres to the same safety standards as all our other products.

Carefree maintenance and guarantee
Natural tone in our equipment offers carefree maintenance from maintenance painting as there is no chipping or wearing of painted surfaces. Non-painted options enjoy the same guarantee as our painted products.
